Speak Up! Speak Out! empowers students to become change-makers in their communities by tackling local issues and presenting innovative solutions at the annual State Civics Fair. Although participation is entirely voluntary, it became a cherished tradition among New Tech students. What made this initiative truly remarkable was the students’ dedication. Students worked entirely on their own time, even requesting Saturday school sessions as deadlines approached. This wasn’t for a grade but for the chance to have their voices heard, while honing essential skills like research, writing, collaboration, and public speaking. It was an inspiring opportunity that left a lasting impact on everyone involved.
