Inequality Project

While teaching Sociology, my students were tasked with a straightforward project: researching social inequality and creating display boards to showcase their work during exhibition night. Since they’d be busy presenting other projects elsewhere, this approach allowed them to share their findings without being physically present. However, the students found the assignment uninspiring, and during a brainstorming session, they decided to revamp it. While some wanted to create a video, others were eager to try something new. Ultimately, they chose to craft a walkthrough experience depicting the life of a fictional girl facing social inequality.
Despite having less than two weeks to prepare, the students collaborated with impressive dedication. While some stuck with display boards (you can see them in the video), most worked together to bring the walkthrough to life. Their efforts included conducting research, writing a script, transforming the classroom in a single day, and even connecting with local organizations addressing inequality. Though the final result may not have been the most visually polished, it was a testament to their creativity, teamwork, and ownership of their learning. The 360° walkthrough video below captures their hard work.
